I'll be frank like Anne, I did not see this one coming: a ranking contender for World's Most Pointless State Agency slaps down a request from a private company, a brilliant Web 1.9 one at that, and we here on the left side of Mutiny Baby agree wholeheartedly with The Acronym's decision? What are the odds? The FCC, which apparently stands for Free Choice Club now, not only agrees that open telecom networks are good but also suggests we wait for markets to deliver them the natural way. Skype was wrong to ask for their product to be forced (at the barrel of a gun, as our team enjoys saying) onto private networks, but it's hard to blame them for trying.

Let's ignore the obvious fact that the FCC only declined because Skype is miniscule compared to T-Mobile and AT&Treason. The state accidentally did the right thing; let us revel. This April Fools' Day, for like thirty five seconds, I was Lee Greenwooding it.
